I had to make wedding dresses that could be “blood and cake proof” since in the last scene they got in a huge fight! I had to do multiple fabric swatch tests before the dresses could be build due to the immense amount of yardage going into them. The director, Mary Jo Duprey, wanted them bulky and constricting, so the more cumbersome the better! The grooms flight suits had to be rigged so they could be torn off and the actors had to learn how to pull these off effortlessly. Figuring out where to sew the velcro was trickier than it sounds because all the opening had to come from the back of the suits.
