Zoe in full battle costume and make up. Many rolls of duct tape were used to “piece” her limbs together including corseting her with it. We only had one of these dresses for the whole film. I found similar fabric in downtown LA and started piecing together separate skirts and sleeves to switch out.
Trey was a matter of matching his first look since they had shot it previous to me jumping on board and of course thrown out the costume. I studied the footage and through the magic of cinema and a close eye I replicated it.
West was a matter of distressing all his costume pieces. His duster was literally rubbed into the desert dirt to give it the worn look. I cut his shirt sleeves and then ran the shirt through the washer to fray the edges.
Jed was the first to be killed off which meant I only had to worry about his distracting boxers in a crucial scene. Solution, get rid of them or tuck them really low.
Cody had a darker shirt originally until the day of him getting shot with an arrow through the neck and bleeding everywhere. The blood wasn’t show up as much but luckily I had this back up shirt to save my day.
Creed wore black leather pants for a scene and of course they tore in the back. I sewed them multiple times, backed them with other fabric and finally duct taped them. Nothing worked and sources are limited in the middle of nowhere.
Dane’s denim jeans were from a thrift store and trying to get duplicates with the same wash was nearly impossible but luckily he didn’t need many.
Sheriff Holt was a matter of making him look authentic. I’m a huge believer in name plates, badges and patches.
